Technician Quick Start

  • Download the latest stable bootstrap image above.
  • Flash it to a blank 64GB A2 microSD card in Raspberry Pi Imager (or balenaEtcher).
  • Insert card into the assembled Pi 5 and power on.
  • Wait for auto-provisioning to complete.
  • On kiosk setup screen, enter the site's generated setup code.
  • Confirm kiosk reaches live screen and reports online in route tools.
No prebinding required. Setup code is entered on-site by installer.

Flash & Install Instructions (Field SOP)

Step Action Success check
1. Download Save latest .img.xz to local machine. File size matches expected and SHA256 check passes.
2. Flash Open Raspberry Pi Imager → Use custom → choose image → select SD card → Write. Imager verifies write with no errors.
3. Boot Insert SD in Pi 5, connect network, power on. Bootstrap screen appears and provisioning begins.
4. Activate At kiosk setup, enter setup code generated for that location. Code claim success and kiosk links to the right site.
5. Validate Run quick test: touch, audio, orientation, network heartbeat. Kiosk shown online in route tech tools.

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

  • Do not reuse unstable or counterfeit SD cards; use quality A2 cards only.
  • Do not remove power during first boot/provisioning.
  • Do not enter setup code before the kiosk setup screen is fully loaded.
  • If setup fails, reboot once and retry before replacing hardware.
  • Use route tech tools on kiosks.systems for support workflows and remote diagnostics.
